Terms of use

Last updated: May 2026

By using tinymap you agree to these short terms. We've kept them plain on purpose — the goal is for everyone to actually read them.

The service

tinymap is a free tool to create a map with multiple labeled pins and share it via a short link. No signup is required to create or share a map. You may optionally sign in with Google to sync your maps across devices.

Your maps are public via the share link

Anyone with the share link can view your map and the pins on it. Do not put anything on a pin that you would not want a recipient or anyone they forward the link to to see — addresses, gate codes, lockbox locations, and similar details are visible to anyone who has the URL. We do not crawl or index your maps in search engines (the pages are marked noindex), but the URLs themselves are not secret.

What you can put on a map

Anything legal that does not violate someone else's rights. Specifically, you may not use tinymap to:

  • Post hate speech, slurs, threats, or harassment.
  • Share sexually explicit content.
  • Promote illegal activity, scams, or phishing.
  • Share private personal information about someone without their consent.
  • Impersonate another person or organization.

We use automated moderation (an OpenAI model) to flag clearly abusive content at the moment a map is saved. We may also remove content reactively if reported.

Removal of content

We reserve the right to remove maps or block users at our discretion, particularly for the reasons listed above. We try to be fair and lenient — apartment maps with normal names, addresses, and instructions are exactly what tinymap is for.

No warranties

tinymap is provided as-is. We do our best to keep the service reliable and accurate, but we cannot guarantee that map data will always be available or that the underlying tiles from Google Maps will be correct. Don't rely on tinymap for time-critical navigation, emergency directions, or anything where being wrong has serious consequences.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. The total liability for any direct damages will not exceed the amount you paid us in the last 12 months — which, since tinymap is free, is zero.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
